Julie Jarvis, MBLS. MMLDuk. LTA Cert / Vodder, BTEC Prof. Dip. - Massage Therapist
Julie graduated from the Vodder School in Austria in 2011 with a qualification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy (DLT). She then went on to study with The Lymphoedema Training Academy, graduating in 2015 with a certificate in Fluoroscopy Guided (FG)-MLD. All these treatments are used in the management of primary and secondary lymphoedema and lipoedema, together with deep oscillation therapy. Compression garments are a key component of managing lymphoedema and lipoedema. Julie can measure for and source the correct fitting compression garment to meet the needs of the individual.
Additionally, Julie holds a qualification in ScarWork, an internationally recognised series of techniques for treating a range of scars, new and old. Julie studied a BTEC Professional Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage at the prestigious London School of Sports Massage, qualifying in 2004. Julie is trained in the treatment, management & rehabilitation of soft tissue injury.
As a qualified Sports Massage Practitioner, she treats an extensive range of problems using a variety of massage techniques, ultrasound, deep oscillation, rehabilitation exercises and practical advice. She has a wide range of experience from treating sports teams and individual athletes to conditions arising from incorrect posture and tension.
Sports Massage helps to alleviate the pain associated with stress, chronic tension, muscle imbalance and soft tissue injury. Benefits to the sports person include injury prevention, improved self awareness and improved quality and quantity of training, all of which lead to an improvement in performance.
